The men’s baseball team hung tough against the No. 14 Cal State Fullerton Titans this weekend, winning one of three games against the perennial powerhouse, according to gofrogs.com.
The Horned Frogs fell 11-5 in blustery weather conditions Friday night but won their Saturday afternoon matchup 4-2 behind strong pitching from starter Steven Maxwell.
The Frogs fell again on Sunday, 7-4, when Matt Vern’s bid for a game-tying homer fell just short.
The Horned Frogs (1-2) close out their season-opening home stand on Tuesday against Dallas Baptist at Lupton Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
