The Horned Frogs were swept in their weekend series versus the No. 15 Wichita State Shockers, putting an end to their winning ways.
The Horned Frogs’ 5-1 loss on Friday night at Wichita State’s Eck Stadium put an end to their four-game winning streak, which included back-to-back wins over then No. 2 Ole Miss on March 8 and 9, and a sweep of a two-game set against Prairie View A&M on March 10 and 11.
The Horned Frogs lost 3-2 to Wichita State on Saturday despite outhitting the Shockers 8-7. The Horned Frogs also left nine runners on base.
Sunday’s game yielded similar results as the Horned Frogs went down 5-1.
The Horned Frogs currently stand at 9-8 overall.
The team will return home for a four-game stint, beginning with a Tuesday night contest against McNeese State. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
