An adjunct librarian at Northeast Lakeview College in San Antonio shot and killed a fellow employee in the school’s library yesterday, reports the San Antonio Express-News.
Alan Godin, 62, shot fellow librarian and instructor Devin Zimmerman, 37, at 2:15 p.m. in front of several students. Classes have been canceled for the day, although the campus remains open so students can speak with counselors.
Northeast Lakeview College is one of five Alamo Community Colleges. It serves about 4,000 students in northeast San Antonio.
The school’s president said he knew both men but was unaware of any motive for the shooting. He also said that Godin had shown no signs of instability.
Police arrested Godin, who is currently in jail and held on $250,000 bond.
