Media Relations director Mark Cohen confirmed the announcement from last night’s pep rally that representatives from the Allstate Sugar Bowl are on campus for this evening’s game against the University of Wyoming Cowboys.
The Sugar Bowl is one of four Bowl Championship Series Bowls the Frogs could potentially land in. The Frogs must end up ranked in the top 12 of the BCS polls and be the highest ranked team from a conference that doesn’t get an automatic BCS bid. If the Frogs only finish in the top 16, they must also finish ahead of a team with an automatic BCS bid. This would likely take the Frogs winning out.
Representatives from each bowl in which the Mountain West Conference will play in were present for last week’s showdown with Brigham Young University.
The Frogs impressed early when quarterback Andy Dalton connected with a wide open Jimmy Young on the fourth play of the game for a 60-yard touchdown.
